Run by volunteer Learning and Development managers from leading law firms, the Legal Education and Training Group helps people connect with colleagues in other law firms to share information and promote best practice across the community. The LETG has over 550 members, including senior L&D professionals in most of the Top 100 UK firms.
Explore your challenges with colleagues through the website or by meeting at events, the Annual Conference or Networking evening. We also have sub-groups for UK regions, training administrators and Business Service trainers.
Learn and share best practice and what works well within the unique culture of law firms at our Awards evening, Annual Conference, seeing leading providers at our showcase events or on the website.
Post your questions to get impartial advice and recommendations for providers from colleagues online, via email/phone or in person.
Hear what your peers are talking about. We’re a conduit for discussions on regulatory developments with industry bodies (e.g. SRA) and conduct bi-annual surveys of the legal Learning and Development community.
Are you up to speed on those important topics relevant in today’s fast-evolving world?
Join these bite-sized sessions to gain insights into what’s hot in learning and get ahead.
They will be delivered by trusted providers and open to all law firm colleagues (L&D or otherwise) who are members of the LETG.
These sessions may also be helpful for those looking to deliver new topics in their training curricula.
Are you new to Learning or on that curve of developing your skills? Or maybe, you need a refresher?
Why not join our L&D Essential sessions?
Build your knowledge and skills in these interactive short workshops.
Covering topics that should be in every Learning professionals toolkit, learn alongside your law firm colleagues (L&D or otherwise), share experiences and hear about the latest thinking and best practice.
Anyone in a UK law firm with a learning and development aspect to their role can join the LETG. A minimal annual member fee is charged to help run the LETG, which operates as a not-for-profit business with committee members dedicating their time for free.
The LETG fulfils four key functions for its members:
We’re proud to have strong relationships with leading training providers, coaches and consultants in our sector. All have been endorsed by at least one LETG member from law firms with whom they’ve worked and invited to register, for free, as a “Recommended Provider”. Their references and specialisms are detailed on the LETG website for all members to see, they receive open questions from members and they are invited to join all members at the annual conference and at the networking and awards evening.
We deliberately created this “Recommended Provider” status because providers supplying law firms on a commercial basis are not able to become full LETG members. This approach maintains the impartiality, openness and confidentiality between law firm members and avoids members receiving unsolicited sales calls or emails.
We are always looking to expand our network of providers, so please get in touch if you have worked with one of our member law firms.
To join or for any other queries please contact info@letg.org.uk.
Anyone working in Learning and Development in a Central London law firm may also be interested in contacting your local Law Society, the City of London Law Society which often have training committees and useful contacts.
